Chair Envelope

Chair Envelope:

Chair envelope is the front to back dimension of an unoccupied chair. Chairs with self-rising seats are measured with the seat in the "up" position. Accessories like cupholders or writing tablets impact this dimension. The forward location is typically the seat bucket or the center armrest, whichever component that extends into the row more.
