Period-Accurate Aesthetics

Fox 4694

Irwin worked with the Fox Theatre team to develop a seating replacement strategy that blends period-accurate aesthetics with modern amenities and improved navigation to elevate guest comfort and experience, all while preserving and repurposing a significant portion of its history.

To start, the teams reviewed archival photos of the original 1928 seating and then worked with our fabric supplier to recreate the pattern that included the Fox crest woven into the back fabric. To help enhance the patron experience, the Fox team wanted to improve way-finding, so Irwin designed new cast ends that include LED aisle lighting and back-lit row letter tags. Our artisans then decorated the ends to mimic the original highlights.

In addition to new backs and seats, cupholders were installed for added convenience. The end result is spectacular!
