Historic Performing Arts Theatre
The Palace Theatre

Irwin partnered with the Palace Theatre team in New York City to deliver a seating restoration that honors the venue’s rich 1913 heritage while elevating the modern audience experience. The result is a thoughtful blend of historic preservation and contemporary performance.
Guided by the theatre’s iconic Art Deco character, the design features beautiful custom end panels with intricate detailing, paired with stunning blue upholstery selected to reflect the theatre’s original grandeur. Every element was carefully considered to help restore the space to its former glory while meeting today’s expectations for comfort and durability.
The installation includes Irwin’s Rialto seating model, featuring stained wood backs and armrests that complement the theatre’s historic interior. Alongside the aesthetic upgrades, the new seating enhances patron comfort and flow throughout the space.
Reopened with new seating in 2025, the revitalized Palace Theatre now accommodates approximately 1,740 guests, continuing its legacy as one of Broadway’s most celebrated venues—reimagined for a new era.
