Model 1020 was a typical plywood chair commonly installed in theatres and opera houses throughout the United States. The chairs shown here were restored for Cornell University, Bailey Hall. Work included:

  • Stripping and cleaning of all cast iron & steel components prior to powder coating (painting)
  • Conversion of existing chair standards to work with new No. 17 wood bottom seats
  • Stripping and sanding of armrests prior to staining
  • Stripping and sanding of backs prior to staining
  • Addition of upholstered pads on the existing backs
  • Addition of ADA-compliant aisle standards and movable bases
  • New row letter and seat number plates
  • New low-voltage aisle lights
