Preserving an Icon. Modernizing the Experience.
The iconic Wrigley Field began an extensive preservation and renovation program in 2015, designed to protect the historic ballpark for future generations while enhancing the experience for today’s fans. Throughout the project, Irwin Seating has been proud to contribute seating solutions that respect the character of Wrigley Field while incorporating modern performance, comfort and installation advantages.
Irwin’s involvement began with the lower deck, where we supplied new American Stadium chairs with traditional cast-iron stanchions.
In 2024, the focus shifted to updating existing club seating along the baselines and behind home plate. Rather than replace the entire seating system, the existing backs and cast standards were retained. Irwin provided new No. 12 upholstered seats, polymer armrests molded to replicate the look of wood arms, and new cupholders—refreshing the seating while preserving the character of the existing installation.
In 2026, seating replacement continued in the upper deck. For this phase, the team selected the same backs and seats used in the lower bowl, mounted on Irwin’s Venue 360 rail system. The rail-mounted solution significantly reduces the number of concrete penetrations required for installation while delivering the solid feel and appearance expected from permanent stadium seating.
The result is a seating solution that supports the ongoing preservation of Wrigley Field while creating a consistent look and experience throughout the ballpark—combining respect for its history with the flexibility and performance of modern seating technology.

Venue 360 is designed to work with the venue—not against it. Rail-mounted seating reduces the number of concrete penetrations, helping protect the slab and minimize potential entry points for water.
Rails can also bend up to 25 degrees around joints, giving designers greater flexibility to follow the contours of the venue and create a clean, finished installation without awkward gaps.
