Writing tablets for the No. 4 chair platform are self-storing and designed with a unique feature that allows the user to move the tablet in or out for additional belly room or for a more comfortable arm angle. The internal structure for the mechanism is tubular steel for outstanding strength. This assembly meets the one-motion, "anti-panic" design outlined in NFPA Life Safety and International Building codes.

Writing tablets are constructed from cross banded, 11-ply hardwood surfaced on both sides with high-pressure plastic laminate.
